★ 7.0 editorial score
The most exported French film of its generation: Jeunet saturated Paris into green and gold and sent a shy waitress out to quietly rearrange other people's lives.
“Audrey Tautou's starmaking performance fits the film like a glove. Ten years on, Amélie's charms are still a tad saccharine, but what comes across most powerfully is Jeunet's athletic, playful directing style, a tour de force of tricks, gags and effects.”
