★ 5.9 editorial score
The original creature suit was so bad they scrapped it mid-shoot and had Stan Winston build another: a commando squad in the jungle slowly works out that something is hunting them.
“Muscles, machine guns, and testosterone seem to radiate from Predator, a macho actioner of uncommon masculinity, a modicum of female presence, and monsters from space to boot. It’s a man’s man movie, the type where Jesse Ventura spitting chaw juices onto someone’s boot is an example of badassery, versus misplaced manliness.”
