A castle, or a whole town, is built from a mosaic of small colored geometric blocks - reds, greens, blues - stacked and interlocked like stained glass or a child's puzzle, with a bright red sun hovering above. Paul Klee, who taught at the Bauhaus, constructs Castle and Sun from pure color and simple shapes, balancing childlike whimsy with sophisticated harmony. Now in a private collection, it shows his unique poetic gift - architecture and landscape dissolved into a musical patchwork of glowing tesserae, abstraction made warm, playful, and tender rather than austere.
